Please read the information below for important tips and hints for your photo session.
What should we wear?
Clothing choice is entirely yours although I recommend comfortable clothes with no bold patterns or character clothing.
I recommend bringing a few outfits to your session as this will add great variety to your photo's.
Have a look around your home and try to wear colours that would look good on a large canvas on your wall or in a frame.
For family photos, try to all dress according to the same theme (ie. formal, casual etc) and stick to colours that compliment each other.
Please take note of the finer details like clean nails etc & be sure to have some wipes handy for your child's face.
Newborn - please keep baby in loose clothing for at least an hour before the shoot and keep nappy on loose to eliminate any lines & extra creases.
Maternity - Please also be sure to wear loose clothing for a few hours before your shoot so there are no nasty elastic marks on your skin.
How long will our session last?
Family or child sessions usually last between 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours
Newborn sessions can last up to 3 to 4 hours. This allows pleny time for feeding & changing.
Where will the session take place?
The location is entirely up to you. There are many beaches, parks and other beautiful areas in Perth that we can use as a location and we can discuss this at the time of your booking.
The location will dictate the time of day of the shoot & would preferrably be somewhere with lots of shade. Should your schedule allow, the perfect time for your session would be the first hour after sunrise or about an hour & a half before sunset.
Newborns - I will come to your home as this is where both you & baby are most comfortable. Ideally, I would need a non direct source of light like a large window or sliding door.
Can we bring props?
Yes, of course. If there are any props you would like to bring along to your session, please feel free and I will do my best to encorporate them into your photo shoot.
If your child has a special teddy or toy, please feel free to bring them along.
I may supply props as needed for the photo shoot although I tend to work with what is around me.
For newborn shoots, I may use hats, blankets etc as props but will discuss this with you at the photo shoot.
Important Information for Parents
Please bring along non messy snacks for your child as well as plenty to drink.
Should your child require a break during the session, please allow them to do so. I like my sessions to be relaxed & easy going for everyone and want you all to have a positive experience during your session. If your child doesn't want to co-operate, it's often best to have a 10 minute 'break' and allow them to have a snack, drink & play.
Please allow me to control the session and talk to your child. Often, parents try to help by calling the child but end up distracting them from the camera and we lose that beautiful connection.
Model Release Form
For my portfolio building sessions, I require a signed model release so I may use those images in my portfolio.
